Bienvenue sur Tarotchoco !We discuss the creation of the Tarot in the twelfth century by the Benedictine monks who worked in the scriptorium of the Royal Abbey of Saint-Denis. My research led me to conclude that Suger, abbot of Saint-Denis, was the father of the project. His name is coded in the title of Arcanum XX, Le jugement. The code in question was used to encrypt both the Tarot and elements of his abbey church.
